NE/R: SONGTABA DONATES TO ALLEGED WITCHES CAMP

 S ongtaba is a Non - Governmental organization (NGO) that has been in the East Mamprusi Municiaplity since 2005.   It is a women and children rights advocacy organization. On Tuesday 29 th September, Songtaba donated food items and covid 19 protective items to the Gambaga alleged witches camp worth thousands of Ghana cedis. This donation was to support the vulnerable women living in excluded camp The relief items distributed to the witches camp include Rice Oil Liquid soap Sanitary pads Nose masks Veronica buckets In partnership with PLAN international, SONGTABA is implementing the women voice and leadership project as part of the project intervention is supporting vulnerable groups with covid 19 relief items in the East Mamprusi Municipality. NE/R: CHEREPONI DCE FAREWELL MESSAGE TO BECE CANDIDATES

  The District Chief Executive for Chereponi   has cautioned all BECE candidates to remain with their parents and guardians as they complete their basic education. Over seven hundred candidates sat for BECE exams in the Chereponi district of which nine (9) candidates were absent . The DCE for the area Hon. Tahidu Abdul Razak in a farewell message to the students  asked them not to engage in acts that is detrimental to their future. He further encourage them to help their parents both at home and workplaces. The DCE assured that,   the future of teeming youth in Ghana, is very dear to His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo    Addo and that is why he brought the free education policy. NE/R:NADMO DISBURSES RELIEF ITEMS TO FLOOD VICTIMS

The National Disaster Management Organization on Wednesday September 9, 2020 distributed relief items to the affected flood victims in the North East Region. The distribution of the items was done by a team of NADMO staffs, police personnel together with the North East Regional Minister Hon. Solomon N. Boar.   The spillage of the Bagre dam in the neighbouring Burkina Faso has rendered most of the people living along the whitevolta homeless and several properties destroyed. The honorable minister  sympathised with the bereaved family and  appealed  to benevolent organisations to come to the aid of the affected victims. According to the minister, the Pwalugu multipurpose dam that is currently under construction, when completed would help solve this perennial  flooding and lose of lives and properties. NE/R: SIX (6) PEOPLE CONFIRMED DEAD AS A RESULTS OF THE SPILLAGE OF THE BAGRE DAM

Properties and lives has been lost in the North East and Northern part of the country as a result of the spillage of the Bagre dam in Burkina Faso. The dam was opened in August but has been couple with torrential rainfall in the area. The heavy downpour has worsen the case in the North East Region rendering many people homeless and farmlands destroyed. The North East Regional NADMO director Mr. J.K Alhassan in an interview with Journalist confirmed that six (6) people have lost their lives as a result of the flood. The most affected districts in the region are:  Mamprugu Mo-Aduri West Mamprusi Municipal East Mamprusi Municipal Chereponi district Yunyoo district According to the North East regional NADMO director, Mr J.K Alhassan government has released relief items to be disbursed to the affected districts. He further cautioned the general publiv to be cautious of their movement whenever the clouds are turned.

  The CHRAJ commissioner Mr. Joseph Whutta on Friday September 4 th paid working visit to the North East Region. He was   received and welcomed by the North East Regional minister Hon. Solomo Boar who led him to the overlord of Mamprugu, the commission stated that he is in the region to open the new regional commissioners office to enchance the successful running of the commissions work. Mr. Joseph Whutta assured the good pupil of the North East Region the readiness of the commission to fight corruption and other related issues concerning human right. According to him, many more offices would be opened very soon in districts that do not have CHRAJ offices in the region.
