NE/R: PEACE IS THE WAY FORWARD THE CHURCH OF PENTECOST WALEWALE AREA

 

The church of Pentecost in the Walewale area has launched a peace campaign in the area as the general elections gets closer. The launch was officially done by the Walewale Area Head Apostle Francis Yaw Adu at the forecourt of the overlord of Mamprugu Abdulai Mahami Sheriga B)hagu.

Apostle Francis Yaw Adu admonished the electoral commission to play its role as mandated by the constitution  of Ghana. He also edged the security agencies to deal with all trouble makers and the National commission or civic Education to up their game in educating the general public the need for peaceful general elections.

the occasion was graced by the overlord of Mamprugu, the North East Regional Minister, the Regional Police commander, the Regional NCCE director, the Regional director of elections, and the Walewale Area Head of church of Pentecost.

the rep of Nayiri at the occasion was very grateful to the church of Pentecost for that educative program and said the Nayiri does not discriminate among any political parties and sees all parties as the same.

on behalf of the regional minister, Mr. Benjamin Adeten was very grateful to the church of Pentecost for the educative program to foster mutual understanding of politics in our society especially as Ghanaians goes to the polls in December.

Asp. Robert Anabik who represented the regional police commander, assured the general public the readiness of the police service to deal with miscrants who will attempt causing trouble before,during and after elections he also entreat all political parties to conduct their campaigns in a peaceful manner

the two major political parties the NPP and NDC all pledge to preach peace in their campaigns.

the regional director of elections (EC) Mr. Manu Gabriel said, the electoral commission has no mechanisms to rig election in favour  of any political party. He made this statement base on the reasons below;

  • Voter ID card registration are done in the participation of all political parties            

  • Exhibitions are also done to correct all infractions in the  register with political parties

  • Filling of nominations with proper scrutiny of nominee by EC
 
  • Notice of polls with all political parties
 
  • Printing of ballot papers (all political parties duelly represented to ensure peace and transparency)
 
  • Political parties puts their seals on all the ballot papers.
 
  • Ballot papers are distributed to the various polling stations in the presence of all political parties.

All Political Parties are there to monitor counting of votes and sign to the said results.

with the above reasons given, The regional director of elections believes that the EC cannot manipulate any election result.
