NE/R: GHANA CHRISTIANS HEALTH ASSOCIATION OF GHANA (CHAG) SUPPORTS THE BAPTIST MEDICAL CENTRE TO FIGHT COVID-19

Hajia Rashida Mahama is the nominee for the East Mamprusi municipal Assembly by his excellency Nana Addo Dankwah Akuffo Addo. She was welcomed by the Mamprugu Overlord, Naa-Bohagu I.
Speaking on behalf of the
overlord, an elder of the Nayiri, Mba Maasu said, “ the overlord has accepted
her”.
Not only the overlord,
but the entire state have embraced her, and we gave her a warm welcome”, he
added.
However, considering the misunderstanding that engulf her nomination, the overlord advised her to handle everyone well and also thanked the president for the decision. The newly nominated MCE was presented to the overlord and his council of elders in Nalerigu by the constituency executives of the ruling party (NPP). All the failed aspirants including the immediate past MCE, Hon Abdul Nasiru Danladi, were part of the delegation to the Nayiri.
Dozens of party
supporters and sympathizers of the nominee cheered and danced on the street of
the regional capital as she was being outdoored. President Akuffo Addo selected
Rashida Mahama the Party’s Women Organizer in the region, as his MCE nominee
for East Mamprusi Municipal Assembly.
Some party supporters in
Gambaga earlier voiced their rejection of the nominee and criticized the
presidents decision.
However, the Constituency
Chairman, Iddrisu Zakaria who led the visit to the Nayiri thought otherwise. According
to him, “there won't be any difficulty to reconcile”, he said. He added that
reconciliation has started because even this morning, 60% of those who applied
followed us with Hajia to go and pay a visit to the Nayiri”.
The immediate past MCE pledged
his support to the newly nominated MCE. According to him, he is around to give
her a full support. I want to send a signal to everybody to understand that
politics is a game of people and that everybody must contribute their quota to
the development of the area, he added.
