  The Baptist Medical Centre is one of the referal centres in the North East Region, the medical centre  since the outbreak of covid-19, has contributed enormously in fighting the disense.               The facility, since January 2021, to |Sept 15th has recorded suspected cases of six hundred and ninteen (619), one hundred and fourty-two (142) are positive, eight (8) deaths and eight (8) are on home care, A total of one hundred and twenty-six have been recovered.                    Foreign common wealth and development office/UKAID is the main sponsor of the covid-19 response institutional capacity building project, (CRIB) project.                    Nobyah Fm in an interview with the administator of the East mamprusi municipal Baptist Medical centre, Mr Edward Addai, he indicated that the project has seen the engagement of radi...

NE/R: SIX (6) PEOPLE CONFIRMED DEAD AS A RESULTS OF THE SPILLAGE OF THE BAGRE DAM

Properties and lives has been lost in the North East and Northern part of the country as a result of the spillage of the Bagre dam in Burkina Faso. The dam was opened in August but has been couple with torrential rainfall in the area. The heavy downpour has worsen the case in the North East Region rendering many people homeless and farmlands destroyed.

The North East Regional NADMO director Mr. J.K Alhassan in an interview with Journalist confirmed that six (6) people have lost their lives as a result of the flood. The most affected districts in the region are:
  •  Mamprugu Mo-Aduri
  • West Mamprusi Municipal
  • East Mamprusi Municipal
  • Chereponi district
  • Yunyoo district
According to the North East regional NADMO director, Mr J.K Alhassan government has released relief items to be disbursed to the affected districts. He further cautioned the general publiv to be cautious of their movement whenever the clouds are turned.

NE-R: THE NAYIRI ACCEPTS RASHIDA MAHAMA NOMINATION AS MCE

  Hajia Rashida Mahama is the nominee  for the East Mamprusi municipal Assembly by his excellency Nana Addo Dankwah Akuffo Addo. She was welcomed by the Mamprugu Overlord, Naa-Bohagu I. Speaking on behalf of the overlord, an elder of the Nayiri, Mba Maasu said, “ the overlord has accepted her”. Not only the overlord, but the entire state have embraced her, and we gave her a warm welcome”, he added. However, considering the misunderstanding that engulf her nomination, the overlord advised her to handle everyone well and also thanked the president for the decision. NE/R:CHEREPONI DAM(KATAPILA)TO BE DREDGED-HON.TAHIDU ABDUL RAZAK.

  The member of parliament for the Chereponi constituency Hon.Tahidu Abdul Razak on Sunday 28th  march cut sod for the dredging of the only source of water for the chereponi township and other closer communities like sangbana, Ando,Kpamamba,Bukasu,Bulasu etc. The Chereponi dam is over seventy years since its construction. the dam has lost its water holding capacity due to serious dilapidated of its bank.    The law maker for the area Hon.Tahidu Abdul Razak on cutting sod for the dredging and spillway construction,indicated that an appeal has been submitted to the ministry of Agric to aid in reshaping and sustaining the dam.according to him, solving the peoples problem is his sole duty as a representative in the national assembly.
